Embark on an unforgettable journey to the highest point in Africa by joining our Mount Kilimanjaro 8 Days Lemosho Route group departure from 23rd January to 1st February. This carefully crafted itinerary is ideal for travelers seeking an exciting challenge while enjoying one of the most scenic and successful routes on Mount Kilimanjaro. With additional time for acclimatization, experienced mountain guides, and a supportive team, this expedition offers an excellent opportunity to stand on the legendary Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters.
Whether you are traveling alone, with friends, or as a couple, our join group climb allows you to share the adventure with fellow climbers from around the world. Many lifelong friendships begin on the mountain as participants encourage one another through every stage of the climb. The shared experience creates an inspiring atmosphere that makes reaching the summit even more rewarding.
Your adventure begins on 23rd January when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our professional team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi, where you can relax before the climb begins. During the evening, your lead mountain guide will conduct a comprehensive pre-climb briefing, review the itinerary, inspect your equipment, and explain important safety procedures to ensure you are fully prepared for the expedition.
The trek officially starts on 24th January at Lemosho Gate. The first day leads through the lush rainforest on Kilimanjaro’s western slopes, where towering trees, colorful birdlife, and playful black-and-white colobus monkeys provide a beautiful introduction to the mountain. The gentle pace allows your body to begin adjusting naturally to the increasing altitude while you enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
As the expedition progresses, the landscape transforms into open moorland before reaching the spectacular Shira Plateau. Here, expansive views stretch across the mountain and toward Mount Meru in the distance. The route continues through alpine desert, volcanic ridges, and dramatic valleys, offering some of the most breathtaking scenery found anywhere on Mount Kilimanjaro.
The 8-day Lemosho Route is renowned for its excellent acclimatization profile. The gradual ascent gives your body more time to adapt to the thinner air, significantly increasing your chances of reaching the summit safely and comfortably. The itinerary includes an acclimatization hike to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp, following the proven “climb high, sleep low” strategy used on high-altitude expeditions around the world.

One of the most memorable sections of the journey is the climb up the famous Barranco Wall. Although it appears steep from below, it is a non-technical ascent that is safely guided by our experienced mountain team. Reaching the top rewards you with spectacular panoramic views of glaciers, valleys, and the surrounding volcanic landscape.
After arriving at Kosovo Camp or Barafu Camp, depending on weather conditions and the guide’s decision, you will rest before beginning the summit attempt shortly after midnight. Walking beneath a sky filled with stars, you will steadily ascend toward Stella Point before completing the final section to Uhuru Peak. Watching the sunrise from the Roof of Africa is a truly unforgettable experience and one of the greatest achievements in adventure travel.
Following your summit success, you will descend to lower elevations where the warmer temperatures and higher oxygen levels provide a welcome sense of relief. The final day of trekking takes you through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate before returning to your hotel in Moshi.
Your expedition concludes on 1st February after breakfast. We will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, or you may choose to extend your holiday with a safari through Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, or a relaxing beach escape on the beautiful island of Zanzibar.
Throughout your climb, your safety and comfort remain our highest priorities. Our licensed mountain guides conduct daily health checks using pulse oximeters, monitor your acclimatization, and carry emergency oxygen and comprehensive first-aid equipment. Supported by skilled assistant guides, experienced mountain cooks, and dedicated porters, our team ensures you can focus entirely on enjoying the journey.
Late January is one of the best periods to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The weather is generally dry, skies are often clear, and trekking conditions are excellent. The combination of comfortable daytime temperatures and crisp summit conditions provides ideal opportunities for photography and unforgettable mountain views.
This join group departure is suitable for both first-time climbers and experienced hikers.
