Experience the thrill of climbing Africa’s highest mountain by joining our scheduled Mount Kilimanjaro 8 Days Lemosho Route group departure from 30th January to 8th February. This expertly planned expedition combines breathtaking landscapes, professional mountain guides, and one of the most successful summit itineraries available, making it an excellent choice for anyone dreaming of reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters above sea level.
Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple, or with friends, our join group departure offers the opportunity to share this incredible adventure with climbers from different countries. The supportive group atmosphere makes the journey enjoyable and motivating as everyone works together toward the common goal of standing on the Roof of Africa.
Your journey begins on 30th January with your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our friendly team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi, where you can relax before your expedition begins. In the evening, your experienced lead guide will conduct a detailed climb briefing, review the itinerary, inspect your equipment, and explain important mountain safety procedures to ensure you are fully prepared.
The trek starts on 31st January from Lemosho Gate, located on the quiet western side of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail winds through lush tropical rainforest filled with towering trees, unique plant life, colorful birds, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. This gradual first day’s hike provides an excellent introduction to the mountain while allowing your body to begin adjusting to the increasing altitude.
As the expedition progresses, the scenery changes dramatically from rainforest to heath and moorland before opening onto the magnificent Shira Plateau. Here you will enjoy sweeping views of Mount Meru, ancient volcanic formations, and the vast wilderness of Kilimanjaro National Park. Every stage of the journey introduces new landscapes, making the Lemosho Route one of the most scenic trekking routes on the continent.

The 8-day itinerary is specifically designed to maximize acclimatization and improve summit success. By ascending gradually over several days, your body has more time to adapt to lower oxygen levels at higher elevations. The climb to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp follows the internationally recommended “climb high, sleep low” strategy, which helps reduce the effects of altitude and improves overall comfort during the expedition.
One of the most exciting highlights of the climb is the ascent of the famous Barranco Wall. Despite its impressive appearance, the route is non-technical and safely guided by experienced professionals who provide support whenever needed. Reaching the top rewards climbers with unforgettable panoramic views across Kilimanjaro’s dramatic alpine landscape.
After spending the night at Kosovo Camp or Barafu Camp, depending on weather conditions and your guide’s decision, the summit attempt begins shortly after midnight. Equipped with headlamps and warm clothing, you will slowly ascend toward Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak. Watching the sunrise from Africa’s highest point, surrounded by glaciers and endless views across Tanzania, is an unforgettable achievement that makes every step worthwhile.
Following your summit celebration, you will descend to lower elevations where warmer temperatures and higher oxygen levels provide welcome relief. The final day of trekking takes you through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate before returning to Moshi for a well-deserved rest.
Your expedition concludes on 8th February after breakfast at your hotel. We will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight, or you may choose to continue your Tanzanian adventure with a safari through Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, or unwind on the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar.
Throughout the expedition, your safety is our highest priority. Our licensed mountain guides conduct daily health assessments using pulse oximeters, monitor your acclimatization, and carry emergency oxygen along with comprehensive first-aid equipment. Supported by assistant guides, experienced mountain cooks, and dedicated porters, our team ensures you receive professional care and exceptional service throughout the climb.
