Mount Kilimanjaro Join Group Climb 8 Days Lemosho Route | Departure January 20th to January 29th

Challenge yourself with one of the world’s most rewarding trekking adventures by joining our Mount Kilimanjaro 8 Days Lemosho Route group departure from 20th January to 29th January. This carefully planned expedition is designed to give climbers the best possible chance of reaching Uhuru Peak while enjoying the spectacular scenery and diverse landscapes that have made the Lemosho Route one of the most popular ways to climb Africa’s highest mountain.

This scheduled group departure is perfect for solo travelers, couples, friends, and small groups who want to share the experience with adventurers from around the world. Climbing together creates a motivating atmosphere where everyone encourages one another throughout the journey, making every milestone even more memorable.

Your adventure begins on 20th January when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Our friendly team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi, where you can relax before your climb. During the evening, your lead mountain guide will conduct a detailed briefing covering the itinerary, altitude awareness, mountain safety, and equipment inspection to ensure you are fully prepared for the expedition.

The climb officially starts on 21st January at Lemosho Gate. The trail begins in the lush rainforest on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro, where giant trees, colorful birds, and black-and-white colobus monkeys create a peaceful and beautiful introduction to the mountain. The gradual ascent on the first day allows you to settle into a comfortable trekking rhythm while your body begins adapting to the higher elevation.

As the expedition continues, the rainforest gives way to open heath and moorland before reaching the breathtaking Shira Plateau. This ancient volcanic plateau offers sweeping views across Kilimanjaro National Park and neighboring Mount Meru. Each day reveals a completely different landscape, from giant senecio plants and rugged lava formations to the alpine desert that surrounds the upper slopes of the mountain.

One of the greatest strengths of the 8-day Lemosho Route is its excellent acclimatization schedule. By allowing additional time for your body to adjust to the decreasing oxygen levels, this itinerary significantly improves both safety and summit success. The gradual pace, combined with the experience of your professional guides, helps climbers enjoy the journey while reducing the risk of altitude-related problems.

A key part of the expedition is the acclimatization hike to Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp. This follows the proven “climb high, sleep low” approach that encourages natural adaptation to high altitude. The following day brings the exciting ascent of the famous Barranco Wall, one of Kilimanjaro’s most iconic sections. Although it appears dramatic, it is a non-technical climb, and your guides will provide support and encouragement throughout.

After reaching Kosovo Camp or Barafu Camp, depending on weather conditions and guide recommendations, you will rest before beginning your summit attempt around midnight. Under a sky filled with stars, you will slowly climb toward Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak. Reaching the summit at sunrise is an unforgettable experience, offering breathtaking views across glaciers, volcanic landscapes, and the endless plains of Tanzania stretching far below.

Following your successful summit, you will descend to lower elevations where the warmer temperatures and higher oxygen levels provide welcome relief. The final day on the mountain takes you through beautiful rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate before returning to your hotel in Moshi.

The expedition concludes on 29th January after breakfast. Depending on your onward travel plans, we will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, or you may continue your holiday by exploring Tanzania’s world-famous national parks or relaxing on the tropical beaches of Zanzibar.

Throughout the climb, your safety is our highest priority. Our experienced and licensed mountain guides carry emergency oxygen, first-aid equipment, and pulse oximeters to monitor your health every day. A dedicated team of assistant guides, professional mountain cooks, and hardworking porters supports the expedition, allowing you to concentrate on enjoying the adventure while every detail is carefully managed.
