Mount Kilimanjaro Join Group Climb 8 Days Lemosho Route | Departure January 15th January 24th

Take on the adventure of a lifetime by joining our scheduled Mount Kilimanjaro 8 Days Lemosho Route group departure from 15th January to 24th January. Designed to provide outstanding acclimatization and one of the highest summit success rates on the mountain, this expedition is ideal for travelers who want to experience the beauty of Africa’s highest peak while sharing the journey with fellow climbers from around the world.

The Lemosho Route is renowned for its incredible scenery and gradual ascent. Beginning on the peaceful western side of Mount Kilimanjaro, the trail passes through pristine rainforest, crosses the spectacular Shira Plateau, winds through giant heather and alpine desert, and finally reaches the snow-covered summit of Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters. Every day presents new landscapes, making this one of the most rewarding trekking routes on the mountain.

Your adventure starts on 15th January when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival, our professional team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. During the evening, your lead mountain guide will conduct a detailed pre-climb briefing, review the itinerary, inspect your climbing equipment, and answer any questions to ensure you are fully prepared for the expedition.

The trek officially begins on 16th January at Lemosho Gate. The first stage of the climb leads through lush tropical rainforest, where towering trees, colorful birds, and black-and-white colobus monkeys create a memorable introduction to Kilimanjaro National Park. The gentle pace on the first day helps your body begin adapting to the increasing altitude while allowing you to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

As you continue higher, the dense forest gradually gives way to open moorland and the expansive Shira Plateau. This remarkable volcanic landscape offers panoramic views across the mountain and toward Mount Meru. The changing scenery throughout the climb is one of the reasons the Lemosho Route is consistently ranked among the best routes on Mount Kilimanjaro.

The itinerary has been carefully planned to provide excellent acclimatization. By ascending gradually and spending additional time at higher elevations before the summit attempt, your body has more opportunity to adjust to the reduced oxygen levels. This significantly improves both safety and the likelihood of reaching Uhuru Peak successfully.

A highlight of the journey is the trek to Lava Tower, followed by a descent to Barranco Camp. This important acclimatization day follows the principle of “climb high, sleep low,” helping your body adapt naturally to the altitude. The following morning brings the exciting ascent of the famous Barranco Wall. Although it looks steep, it is a non-technical climb, and your experienced guides will assist you every step of the way.

Your summit attempt begins around midnight after resting at Kosovo Camp or Barafu Camp, depending on weather conditions and the guide’s recommendations. Guided by the light of your headlamp, you will steadily climb toward Stella Point before completing the final stretch to Uhuru Peak. Standing on the Roof of Africa as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the glaciers and the plains below is an unforgettable moment that rewards every step of the journey.

After celebrating your achievement at the summit, you will descend to lower elevations where breathing becomes easier and your body can recover. The final trekking day leads through beautiful rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate before returning to Moshi.

Your adventure concludes on 24th January after breakfast at your hotel. Depending on your travel arrangements, we will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home, or you may continue exploring Tanzania with a wildlife safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro or a relaxing holiday on the beaches of Zanzibar.

Throughout the expedition, your safety and comfort are our highest priorities. Our licensed mountain guides conduct daily health assessments using pulse oximeters, monitor your acclimatization, and carry emergency oxygen and comprehensive first-aid equipment. Supported by experienced assistant guides, skilled mountain cooks, and dedicated porters, you can focus entirely on enjoying the climb while our team takes care of the logistics.
