Mt Kilimanjaro Join Group 8 Days Lemosho Route Departure Jnuary 2nd to 11th January

Start the new year with an unforgettable adventure by joining our Mount Kilimanjaro group climb departing on 2nd January and finishing on 11th January. This carefully planned 8-day Lemosho Route itinerary is designed to give climbers the best opportunity to reach Uhuru Peak while enjoying one of the most scenic trekking routes on Africa’s highest mountain.

Whether you are traveling alone, with a friend, or as a couple, our join group departure allows you to experience the excitement of climbing alongside fellow adventurers from around the world. Sharing the journey with an international group creates lasting friendships while reducing the overall cost compared to a private climb.

The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as one of the finest routes on Mount Kilimanjaro because it combines spectacular scenery, excellent acclimatization, and one of the highest summit success rates. Beginning on the quieter western side of the mountain, the trail passes through lush rainforest, giant heather moorlands, alpine deserts, volcanic ridges, and finally reaches the glaciers surrounding Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters above sea level.

Your adventure begins with your arrival in Tanzania on 2nd January, where our professional team will welcome you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi. During the evening, your mountain guide will conduct a detailed climbing briefing and equipment inspection to ensure you are fully prepared for the expedition.

The climb officially starts on 3rd January from the Lemosho Gate. As you enter Kilimanjaro National Park, the trail winds through beautiful rainforest filled with ancient trees, colorful birds, and playful black-and-white colobus monkeys. The first day offers a comfortable introduction to trekking while allowing your body to begin adapting to the increasing altitude.

Over the following days, the landscape changes dramatically as you leave the forest behind and enter the Shira Plateau, one of the largest high-altitude plateaus in the world. The expansive views of Mount Meru, volcanic formations, and endless valleys create incredible photography opportunities throughout the journey.

One of the major advantages of the Lemosho Route is its gradual ascent profile. The itinerary includes important acclimatization days that significantly improve your chances of reaching the summit safely. As you hike through Lava Tower before descending to Barranco Camp, your body benefits from the “climb high, sleep low” principle, allowing it to adjust naturally to the thinner air.

The famous Barranco Wall provides one of the most exciting sections of the climb. Despite its dramatic appearance, it is not a technical climb, and experienced mountain guides carefully assist climbers throughout the ascent. Reaching the top rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views across Kilimanjaro National Park.

After spending the night at Kosovo Camp or Barafu Camp, depending on the itinerary and guide’s decision, your summit attempt begins shortly after midnight. Equipped with headlamps and warm clothing, you slowly make your way toward Stella Point before continuing to Uhuru Peak. Watching the sunrise above the clouds from the highest point in Africa is a life-changing experience that few adventures can match.

After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs at the summit, you descend to lower elevations where the air becomes richer in oxygen. The final trekking day takes you through beautiful rainforest before arriving at Mweka Gate, where you receive your official Kilimanjaro summit certificate.

The expedition concludes on 11th January, following your overnight stay in Moshi. Depending on your travel plans, we will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, or you may choose to continue your Tanzanian adventure with a wildlife safari or relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar.

Throughout the expedition, you will be accompanied by licensed and highly experienced mountain guides who prioritize your safety and comfort every day. Daily health checks, emergency oxygen, pulse oximeter monitoring, nutritious freshly prepared meals, quality camping equipment, and a dedicated support team ensure you have everything needed for a successful climb.
